Dan Fogelberg wrote this song about the emptiness of Trump 27 years ago

It was dedicated to Trump on the album cover. Seems quite fitting now as his Presidency comes to and end and his fake world comes tumbling down around him:

This was another really great political song from the same Album "River of Souls" not one of his better known albums.

The second one just about rips your heart out.

I will never understand how we lose people like Dan Fogelberg, and the Trumps of the world are still here.

Love Dan Fogelberg.
Still can't listen to his music without crying.

Both music and theme.

I was a Fogelberg fan but never heard this one before. Guess I missed that album.

I miss the old "hippie" music with so many peace and love songs playing in the background that I believe helped to ease public tensions and hold the country together through some very turbulent times.

Thanks Dan.

I was listening to this song earlier this summer. I hadn't read the dedication - at least not recently enough to remember but it did seem like it was about someone like trump.

I really enjoy that album, and all his music.

Orphans of Wealth -- around 1970 or so . . . probably not his best work, but with a profound message . . . "It's the face of America dying" . . .

I find it hard to listen to since his death but now and again I pull out my favorite. I bookmarked to listen to later after I can make myself turn off CNN. Thank you.
