voted for and encouraged other GOP to vote for Biden. We may end up having to battle over policies and such but at least it might be among reasonable opponents.
Now to clean out the Senate.

As they were from a very serious condition that required an serious operation.
So yeah, I think LP helped. Im glad for every Biden vote. Im glad to see disgust on for or Trump voters faces. It makes me happy.

They look more like cherry-picking or confirmation bias, tho. We should never have believed that they had any traction on the rest of the Republicans who favor Mr Trump - he always had 90% approval & the other 10% were the shy Trump voters.

(2,900 posts)We complain about nearly half of our voters and almost every Republican politician still choosing Trump after four years of hell - well these guys didnt choose Trump. In fact they went a step further and voted for Biden. And they went after some of the worst Republicans as well.

(852 posts)I admire them for their courage. They're never going to eat in the Republican mess hall again, & that was one lucrative life. They are people with some principles. They don't agree with a lot of ours but they can be worked with. It's good to know.
I'm with Charles Pierce on their effectiveness. 0 in moving Republicans - a lot more people voted for Mr Trump this time than 2016 & with a lot less reason to do so. Maybe good at rattling some of the campaign honchos & knocking them & the Trump inner circle off their game a little - hard to tell.
This needs to be studied very carefully & debated. I'm thinking the ads were even counterproductive - nearly half the electorate sees the garbage Mr Trump & his regime do, & they like it. The ads just reinforce it for them. How do you run a negative ad campaign against a candidate whose every failing makes him/her more attractive to delusional voters? I think that some of these effectiveness questions can be quantified.

And it is widely expected that Trump will immediately start campaigning for 2024. SDNY and NY AG may have something to say here.
Lastly, who all will Trump pardon? Obviously, his entire family including himself.

(415 posts)Moving forward we will surely disagree on policy, but I'll take reality-based and fact-based opponents any day compared with the constant spin, distortions, and outright lies of today's amoral rank and file right-wingers.

(38,674 posts)There are Republicans who see reality and Republicans who don't. But they all still sit as Republicans together politically. The smart ones are trying to teach the stupid ones, but we must be careful that they don't take advantage of our trust as they go forward to save their party's political credibility. And they're going to try to do that.
Their political goals of no/low taxes, small government, for profit medicine and fewer entitlements still make our relationship with them NO-COMPROMISE DIFFERENCES.
They've gone where the money is during this campaign.
We should thank them and get on with governing.

zipplewrath
(16,692 posts)I don't mean that in the school yard sense. It's just hard for me to see any evidence that they moved the needle one way or another. They didn't seem to have much influence over senate elections or bajeezus Lindsey would be gone. Looking at the polls, the vast majority of us decided in March.

(729 posts)So they didn't make big buys. Therefore, it will be hard to tell how truly consequential they were.
I liked being able to see what it looks like when Democratic candidates and issues are given the Republican spin job. I think that there are a lot of messaging lessons to be learned, and that in itself is very valuable. Just having our communications people and thought leaders learn from some of the Republicans' spin masters is, I think, a big deal.

(3,853 posts)Some may not like that truth but it's a fact. Many groups and factions will want to claim credit for our win but no one group or faction can claim it was solely because of them. Not so certain that the Lincoln Project did that well in getting votes for the Democratic party. Most of us are a tad disappointed in not taking a mjority in the Senate and losing seats in the House and having Biden win but not in a stampede. Looks to me like Democrats were the main viewing audience of the Lincoln Project and were pacified and lost steam in doing our own dirty work.
