Just had a very refreshing, hopeful thought.

Last edited Mon Nov 9, 2020, 06:15 AM - Edit history (1)

I believe President Joe Biden will shift the world-wide coronavirus narrative and the U.S.A. will soon lead the charge in this pandemic battle, rather than being an outlier as under tRump.

We may get to witness renewed ties to the WHO and I believe Joe's COVID Commission will eventually invite all the major players to an international table, perhaps in summit format.

Doing so will also help mend fences in the international diplomacy realm as a good start for our new Secretary of State.

Sadly, we're now facing a triple holiday season and cold weather will soon spread across much of our nation. That combination will almost certainly accelerate COVID-19's spread. We need a coordinated effort not only between our states but also among all nations. I realized this is a fantasy but we must do our best.

We should be leading the world in this effort and should have all along...... .......

1. yes, I have hope. The solutions will be difficult for the brainwashed
Mon Nov 9, 2020, 04:16 AM

so mass public education needs to be done to help Trump's brainwashed people adjust to the reality of our pandemic. Joe needs to get Republicans on board to help in teaching their constituents and promise Federal money to help them do that.

Slovakia started, last week, testing everyone over age 10, every week. - England, Belgium are also planning mass testing because case-by-case testing isn't working...because too many cases.

We could do this, (and prevent another shutdown) if we had a will. Republicans may shout "we don't have the money" - only to try to continue to sabotage our country to try to make Biden fail and they should be roundly criticized for this attitude.

Republicans are going to start gripping about the money, just wait. Yet we need money infusions for the workers, money for mass testing, money for mass education, money for the ppl forced into quarantine.

2. Cases in several red states are skyrocketing right now and it will get worse.....

as a result of three major holidays and more widespread cold weather. Hopefully, that will force the red state citizens to come around to listening to reason regardless of what their politicians are saying. After that, Rethug politicians will begin to come around.

At least that's my hope.

We need a concerted effort nation-wide and internationally, or this thing will kill thousands more unnecessarily.

But, you're right about the Republicans bitching but let's hope President Biden's momentum carries the day.

If they play this out like I'm hoping, this could be Joe's and Kamala's prime achievement.

8. I would highly recommend listening to this from Hell & High Water with Heilemann, Plouffe, Schmidt

and Palmeiri

Listen for the following 3-4 minutes from 26:30 mark, where Heilemann relates a story from Iowa and a chat he had with a local Dem and Repub strategist. It makes a whole lot of sense as to why people stuck with Trump, especially as they were in the RW media bubble.

I am noticing there is less mask usage locally even though our numbers are going up.

5. the problem is the MAGA crazies will purposefully disrupt things

will willfully be defiant of any guidelines the Biden administration lays down. Even go out of their way to sabotage things just so they can say, ha, see it doesn't work.

Yes they are THAT crazy.

11. States are starting to declare emergencies

and the military is being deployed to assist with manpower. I favor a nationwide mandate for masks. There is no good reason to not wear a mask.

Most of us are ugly, anyway. Improve your chances to find a mate by covering up that mouth and nose.

12. Biden will certainly try, but we're so far behind the 8-ball

Even with mandatory lockdowns and universal mask-wearing, it's going to be a long, hard winter with many deaths.

13. The very thought of mid-January is frightening, post-holidays.

Our Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year celebrations will be held under "Trump's rules" in many states.....in other words, few if any rules or laws at all.

That means it's quite possible that around the date of Joe's inauguration, our healthcare system could well be in complete crisis mode throughout much of the nation.
