I agree that the demise of the republican party is probably the only course, I just am concerned as to what might follow it.

The fantasy of "bipartisanship" should have had a stake put in it a long time ago. All it ever meant was Republicans drawing a line in the sand and Dems moving their line closer, and closer, and closer ultimately "winning" some small so-called "concession" sold as better than nothing.

Talking the electorate into settling over, and over, and over has done nothing but sap hope and sow apathy among those looking for meaningful change -- and that just handed greater victories to Republicans.

May the cycle end now.

Always felt Obama showed too much deference when he was obstructed.

Joe knows exactly how the Senate game is played. Time to point it out, loudly.

I hope he knows how to do it. It isn't by being "nice." It is call bipartisan in public but in private it gets rather nasty.

I hope he doesn’t because it would be a hint he doesn’t remember all the times Obama did that and the Repukes still turned on him. Obama was entirely too nice to them.

never in a million years, should any progressive Democrat reach out to any of the Trump cult.

At this point some may appear to be apologetic, and seeking a possible way back into the fold.
Trust me when I tell you, when the next despotic Conservative comes down the road, they will
push the rock out of the way and lick their boots too.

Unfortunately, we are now stuck with this group of recalcitrant followers.

The Dem moderates NEED to reach out to the Dem progressives; and vice versa! We CAN find common ground between us!

Right-wingers? Repuglikans? FUGG 'em!!

unless you are prepared to CLUB IT into submission. You can substitute 'repuglikan' for 'rabid dog,' and it still applies."

Repuglikan idea of "bipartisanship" is "Do it OUR way or fuck off and die!" They can KMA!!
