I still say that laughing at Trump's attempt to overthrow the election will allow it to happen.

It's going to get serious fast even though there is no evidence to support it.

Trump has to be called out as attempting to steal the election.
This has to become the primary message or else he is going to succeed.
If everyone simply plays defense by saying there is no evidence, Trump will overcome Biden.
I don't know how but I know playing defence will allow Trump to win because that's what he wants.

The media has to attack him as illegally attempting to overthrow the election.
He has to be exposed as the criminal he is, not just a misguided fool.

We've seen this before.
Against impossibly ridiculous odds Trump claims something insane.
People point out it's insane and laugh.
Suddenly he wins and gets what he wants.

He's building towards a coup and all the Republicans will support him unless the narrative changes to see him as a criminal instead of a fool.

He appointed someone to dismantle the Post Office before the election. If it can be proved that was his intent, and he has been whining about election fraud since 2016... is there any way to impeach him for Election Tampering with a Denial of Service attack on mail in voting?

He's been suing to keep valid votes from being counted without evidence. Without evidence, can't that be considered attempting to RIG the election through Vote Suppression?

He's supported violence against his political opponent and opponent's party. All his crazy talk is "inciting to riot" and his people are going to protests with guns and attempting to run hummers into election counting stations. Inciting to Riot is behavior unbecoming of a President. A misdemeanor to add to Election Tampering charges.

NANCY?

All of his lawsuits have been laughed out of court. Even the hard-right Texas Supreme Court voted 9-0 to allow the drive-thru votes that the GOP wanted to throw out. Then the Appeals court judge (also hard right) upheld the decision.

So thus far none of the courts have gone along with the GOP's schemes, and are highly unlikely to, as it would disrupt not only this election but our entire democratic framework: it would mean that any losing candidate could go to court and try to 'find' reasons for why they lost. Courts generally look down on such attempts.

Biden has also been widely accepted by the mainstream media (and all sane people) as the President-elect, and the peaceful transfer of power is something that institutions (such as courts) value highly, whether the judges be conservative or liberal.

.. but at some point I have to trust that Biden and his team, as well as any sane individuals left in Washington and the legal system will put a stop to his bullshit. As other posters have said, I don't think there's a mainstream news outlet that isn't calling him on this (well Fox vacillates depending on the host).

If I didn't think Biden had this I probably wouldn't get any sleep between now and Inauguration Day. I am more concerned about the domestic terrorism organizations (Proud Boys and their ilk), or some lone wingnut flying off the handle and shooting up a store or school or church or whatever.

I'm tired. We're all tired. I'd like to say certainly, Trump's attempt at a coup (if indeed that's what he's doing) won't stand, but given what Barr, et al are doing, who the hell knows anymore?

They thought that was funny. They didn't take him seriously. Then he started to win all the GOP primaries. Then he won. And eventually he was in almost every story Huffington Post reported.

We're not repeating that mistake. We must and are taking this guy seriously. Sure, he's a clown, but a dangerous clown who is supported like a messiah by 90% of base Republicans. They will literally do anything for him. But the business community has turned on him because of his incompetence. He will be gone on January 20.

He is being placated until he gets used to his loss. Remember that even people like McConnell have to deal with him carefully because he is such a loose cannon.

The best sources for how people play along with him are Bolton’s book and Mary trump’s book.

Already he is talking about running in 2024. This shows he is coming to terms with it.
When he accepts it, all these doj investigations and the rest of his nonsense will stop.

Personally, I find his behavior depraved and disgusting. If anything, it proves the man and his enablers have no respect for the country or its long-term welfare.

On the other hand, I'm not out there buying razor blades. From everything I've read, Trump and his questionable legal team have no case because they have no evidence. Screaming fraud and/or making wild accusations is not enough in a court of law.

So yes, we need to remain vigilant and informed. But no wrist-slitting is required.

...after every republican in office and half the country jump on the bandwagon and claim votes tossed, votes added, and election stolen in plain sight. They'll demand a massive recount in all 50 states or a complete do-over. They already have mentioned those things, all they need is the backing of the courts, or at least that's what they hope. That's why they laugh off that the media has declared Biden the winner.

Most certainly they'll try to corrupt the electors in states with republican governors, and that might work in many. "We know who the people of our state wanted to vote for but it was tainted."

They're desperate. They will try anything to retain power. and they have Fox News to coordinate the effort
