https://www.rawstory.com/2020/11/trump-plans-to-wreck-fox-as-revenge-for-election-night-coverage-and-start-his-own-media-company-report/More likely is that Trump will fall flat on his face. I am willing to bet that Hannity will not abscond to Trump unless Fox fires him, then he might. Does anyone think Trump will be more successful at managing a media company then he was at managing casinos? How can one fail to make money on a casino, which is basically a license to print money? People talk about the Apprentice, but Trump did not manage that, NBC did. Trump was a paid performer. By now we ought to recognize that Trump cannot manage anything. As much as I would like Fox to get its comeuppance, Trump will not be the one to do it. He might ding them a little but he will fail - spectacularly. Because Trump always fails spectacularly, just as he is going to do in the next two months.

(70,501 posts)Although loathsome Fox has real business people working for it and behind it
but this will no doubt become another Trump failed business.
BTW if Trump won like he says he did how come he wants another job?

(10,252 posts)He will start with some internet "news" forum, where subscribers pay $5/month and he sells advertising. Anyone advertising on his site would be roundly boycotted. I doubt that he could raise the money to build out a real TV studio. He won't be able to get a TV or radio license, because his business is under investigation in NY for tax fraud.
Donald Trump is going to slink off to the dust bin of history with the rest of the trash.

(54,369 posts)Namely, being a mouthpiece for the more extreme elements of the Republican party. When Trump is gone, McTurtle, Tom Cotton and Louie Gohmert can go back to being the most extreme Republicans (well, except for the nut case woman from Georgia now about to enter Congress).
As for who will finance Trump's new media enterprise, I suspect that is more noise than willingness to invest. A smart, wealthy Republican would make noises to Trump about putting up a billion dollars as soon as he's ready to talk details, but he has to concede first. So Trump makes a weak concession with a loud Schwarzenegger imitation ("I'll be back!" ), and as soon as he does, the supposed "financier" has a sudden case of illiquidity, and has to pull out at the last minute.

(51,282 posts)And something dramatic has happened in the past week: A big audience has sought out Newsmax TV for the first time.
Those two facts are connected. Some Trump loyalists are raging against Fox and changing the channel to Newsmax instead. While Newsmax is still much smaller than Fox, this is the most robust right-wing TV challenge to Fox that I have ever seen.
Over the summer, when I started to keep an eye on Newsmax's Nielsen ratings, the channel was averaging about 25,000 viewers at any given time -- a tiny number by any TV news standard. As the election was approaching, the audience ticked up, but it was still just a fly on the Fox elephant's back. In the final week of October, Newsmax was averaging just 65,000 viewers at any given time.
Then came the election. Newsmax averaged 182,000 viewers during the election week that ended on Sunday. And it is growing even more this week. On Monday the channel averaged 347,000 viewers. On Tuesday, 437,000 viewers. Evening shows like "Spicer & Co" and "Greg Kelly Reports" are reaching 700,000 and 800,000 viewers. These shows struggled to hit 100,000 before the election! Something has changed.

(19,060 posts)Think about OANN, they were just a conspiracy site until Trump gave them White House press passes. He built them into a media power. Trump's network will be aligned with them.

He won't have to use his money, just his sterling "brand".
Herring Networks can retain ownership (similar to Murdoch) but they will rebrand as TrumpTV.
Easy Peezy.
He can even do this from jail...
