In my mind the only way to rid our political system of Trump and his ilk is to put him in jail. Otherwise he will continue to have rallies and cause chaos forever. Those people that worship him and his demented message are not going anywhere. His constant lies are believable for millions of citizens and left unchecked a large portion of our nation will turn our political system into a version of the "Kardashians" or "Duck Dynasty".

Reading the NYT article -"As Soon as Trump Leaves Office, He Faces Greater Risk of Prosecution" it telegraphs the fact that in all probability Biden will not pursue any charges "in seeking to unify the country and avoid the appearance of retaliation against Mr. Trump".

In all likelihood it will depend on NY DA Cyrus Vance. Because his pardon power does not extend to state crimes like the possible violations under investigation by Mr. Vance’s office. This is the same DA who was sharply criticized for his 2012 decision not to seek an indictment against Mr. Trump’s children, Ivanka Trump and Donald J. Trump Jr., after they were accused of misleading investors in a condo-hotel project. Mr. Vance has said that after a two-year investigation, his office could not prove a crime was committed.

Trump has to go to jail. He should not be above the law and we should not be forced to tolerate his BS after he leaves office.

1. Agree with Biden. As to state prosecuters, hope they get him but I doubt a jury

will convict trump because there will always be a few white wingers to hang it. But chase his rear all over the world.

moved to DC, I think we could get a jury that would convict. Didn’t like 93% of DC residents vote Biden?

5. I'd bet my rear even ignorant Rudy G could get that venue changed. But, if they can

get him, I'm all for it.

I just don't think Biden will -- or honestly should -- go after him unless something significant that we don't already know about comes up. Just think that sets a bad precedent that will hurt us down the road too. trump is crooked, immoral enough to where I'd be glad to make an exception.

3. Biden won't pursue prosecutions. But his AG will.

An alternative that is even more likely: Biden will appoint an INDEPENDENT PROSECUTOR to investigate criminal wrongdoing in the Trump Administration, especially since there was SO MUCH MONEY taken from the government by Trump and his band of grifters. That can't be allowed to stand.

The FBI will also investigate Trump's associations with Russians and the massive money laundering that Trump pursued over the years. They'll get involved because of the standing evidence that Trump committed crimes relating to his under-the-table deals with Russian oligarchs, including his overly friendly agreements with Russians who have been purchasing real estate from Trump properties. There's a universe of criminal behavior that is continuing to this day.

6. That sounds like a good idea and one that will remove some of the political smell from it. Everyone

knows that Trump is guilty of multiple crimes but like a mob boss it is hard to nail him. I think his taxes are the key to his demise.

For me the main issue is to rid our political discourse from the Trump plague (and I don't mean COVID-19). He is a pox on our Democracy and needs to be held accountable or otherwise we are just inviting another person like him in the future.
