2. on twitter or facebook the telltale sign is when they say

"You need to do your research" in order to buttress their argument. For me its a clear wingnut sign. By research they mean listening to alex jones or some random conspiracy tweet.

My answer is "I did. You, on the other hand, consider reading one crazy person's opinion to be research."
I had one guy insisted that the data showed hydroxychloroqunine worked. His research was he read it on Newsmax.
When I told him my research was I read the peer reviewed study republished by The Lancet, he shut up.
The guy does know I'm a retired scientist. At least he was aware he was comparing whales to unicorns.
