To clarify my previous Buffalo Bills reference

There seems to be a misconception that I was making a joke at the expense of the current Bills team. I was referring to the 91-94 teams who lost 4 super bowls in a row. The old joke was that BILLS stood for Boy I Love Losing Super Bowls.
I was riffing on that.
I am happy the the current Bills can have a modicum of success now that Tom Brady is out of the way. Now they can look forward to losing to the Steelers or Chiefs in the playoffs every year.
But at least it's the playoffs. *Mike drop*
Wish I would have started this in the sports thread.
Peace and......Go STILLERS!

If you're a certain age or above, the Bills losing-the-big-one rep in that era is legendary.

about sports. The episode about the Bills' losses, The Four Falls of Buffalo is incredible, and should be watched by everyone who has any clue that professional football even exists.

It almost made me want to move to Buffalo. What a great city.

That was a great episode.
And, I think it's easy for people to ignore how incredibly difficult it is to go to 4 straight SBs.
As in, they're the only team to ever do it!
Yeah, they got smoked in a couple of those games, especially the game against Dallas.
But, 4 in a row!
My Bears have been to 2 in 35 years. Won only 1.
I don't think I'd be that disappointed to be a Bills fan!

showing the loyalty of the fans. It was very inspiring.

I'm a fan of a team that so far, wins one SuperBowl every 50 years. Maybe not such a bad record.

For many, it’s an obsession. It also turns out it’s a lot of bigotry against my city and state. If Bills fans are upset about one joke, then welcome to the club.

The Cowboys are pretty much my ancestral enemy but I know why they have fans. They are a successful organization and have won some Championships. They are also the only team to choose an opposing player as Super Bowl MVP. I believe Neil O'Donnell split it with Larry Brown that year.

I was in attendance at that Super Bowl. I still wake up in cold sweats having nights about the 2 interceptions O'Donnell threw. 🤨

As a Bills fan, I've heard MUCH worse, so no worries whatsoever and thanks for clarifying!

I also probably reacted a bit too hastily, but it's definitely a bit of a sore subject. All that being said, any joke about Trump's failures is a good joke.
