Thank God they changed the inauguration date. It used to be March 4th.

Could you imagine?

It was changed during FDR's first term because of how disastrous the transition was between Hoover and Roosevelt - specifically the period between the actual election and the inauguration.

was hanging on everymday during the last transition.

My anxiety and despair were so off the charts that every morning during it, the only thing that marginally consoled me was my mantra “He’s still there. For today we are safe.”

Holiday season when it would be more difficult to do things and people would want to go out of town to be with family and things.

I'd like to see Joe inaugurated tomorrow.

But besides that, maybe move up Inauguration to the first Monday in January after the first Wednesday?

OR even better, on New Year's Eve, the swearing in takes place 9:00pm and s/he officially begins office at 12:00:01am January 1? When the ball drops, s/he's in.
