I also watch DW, BBC and France 24 which are all available on pbs world. On Facebook I follow Al Jazeera, NPR and The Christian Science Monitor as well those mentioned above to have multiple sources of information.

I find our MSM and in particular Cable “News” severally lacking in their ability to do much of anything beyond filling airtime between ads for drugs we never knew we needed.

3. Morning Joe....
Wed Nov 18, 2020, 09:21 AM
Nov 2020

.... is one of the reasons I look forward to Monday morning. Apparently I am in good company since the likes of Claire McCaskill, Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff, and Nancy Pelosi among others in a long line of prominent Democrats have no hesitation about appearing on his show. I would venture a wild guess the reason they keep coming back is the fact that they are treated fairly and with respect. For those that hate Joe Scarborough, I will assume they have little or no respect for the above named Democrats since they continually appear on a person's show hosted by such a despicable individual. Unlike some people, I absolutely trust the above named Democrats judgement, and I am thankful that I was able to shed a petty burden of hate from my shoulders long ago.

.... especially when there are no logical alternatives. Tell me, how can you respect and trust someone who without reservation or remorse volunteers to be interviewed by someone you find as despicable as you seem to think Joe Scarborough is? I also find it interesting that so many people who profess such hatred for Scarborough knows when he appears on the show, when he is absent, and are quick to voice an opinion on practically everything that comes out of his mouth.
It is a fact that for practically four years, 5 days a week, and 3 hours a day Scarborough has excoriated and exposed Trump to millions of people which I don't think anyone can deny has resulted in support and votes for the Democratic Party. It's quite a bit more and I've been able to do.

Sorry, you have no moral high ground here. So just stop.

The feelings about Joe Scarborough cover a couple decades. I find it interesting that you feel the need to insult DUers who can’t stand him and don’t trust him.. Go back over the years and you will find no love for Scarborough here.

“It is a fact that for practically four years, 5 days a week, and 3 hours a day Scarborough has excoriated and exposed Trump to millions of people which I don't think anyone can deny has resulted in support and votes for the Democratic Party.“

This could be why many of his guests (and viewers) put up with Joe’s personality and insidious digs at “the far left.”

Parts of the show are very enjoyable, but his long-winded monologues can get very tiresome and redundant. You can tell by the look on the faces of others how exhausting he can be. When I watch the show, it is recorded, so I can flip through some of his speeches. Though he often makes some excellent points, he could make them in 1/10th of the time. It is even more tedious being so early in the morning, enough to put you back to sleep.

My biggest pet peeve, however, is the way he constantly interrupts Mika, rarely letting her get a word in. This can't be good for their marriage. He definitely needs a little more impulse control. We've all known people like Scarborough, which makes it that much more frustrating listening to him.

he is so much better than he used to be and a lot of his rants are often spot-on, just far too long. Years ago, he could be shockingly rude to people, especially if he didn't like them. I quit watching the show for many years, but started watching it occasionally this past year.

First, you incorrectly inferred that I don’t respect the guests. On the contrary, they are the only reason I put up with Scarborough. When the guests are given a chance to get a word in edgewise, the discussions are informative.

Second, the fact that the host can be an obnoxious, blathering sophomoric boor, doesn’t mean I hate him. That was your word, not mine.

Nov 2020

.... That my first reply was not directed at the op, but a general all round statement. I used the word haters as a generic term because there are more of them than there are of people like you who just don't care for the guy. I have defended Joe Scarborough for a while now and I appreciate what he has brought to the table in the last 4 years. I for one appreciate it, and I do tend to get over defensive simply because I believe some people have given him a raw deal and not given him any credit for his contributions. As for not respecting his guests, I know most people do and use it just to get a rise. I admit I have been overzealous in this thread, and for that, I apologize

Something else that's annoying is how quickly he interrupts Mika and other people, not giving them a chance to finish what they started to say. Still, of the morning shows I occasionally watch, I usually give his show more time than the others because of how incessant they are with their condemnation of Trump.

for evening. I can always switch to another channel or turn it all off.

Joe kinda woke up to the fact that the black community has been trying to be heard for YEARS, yet now Joe and Mika get "woke" and people are all happy or all snarky.

Folks, when reality sets in, the smarter ones say "OK" and just move along.

That's all that it is. Handwriting on the wall.
