IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) Tyson Foods has suspended top officials at its largest pork plant and launched an investigation into allegations that they bet on how many workers would get infected during a widespread coronavirus outbreak.
Tyson Foods President and CEO Dean Banks said Thursday that he was extremely upset about the allegations against managers at its plant in Waterloo, Iowa, saying they do not represent the companys values.

(20,491 posts)3. You know, the spouse and I were once in Belize...
driving down a very very rural "highway"...in the evening, and all the banana plantation workers were walking down the road going home for the evening. They all looked tired, but...tough...very tough. Dozens of them, average height probably about 5' 6" or less, but tight, muscular, and sinewy. Each and every one carrying a very large machete. They were all just peacefully walking home, but damn...I would NOT want to piss one of them off!
Now, I am all but a pacifist...but did those managers even once happen to look out on the floor and see all those workers with sharp metal things in their hands???
