Jim Jordan wants to run for Governor of Ohio in 2022Link to tweet ?s=20 Jim Jordan “has begun privately talking about running for governor, according to Ohio Republicans who have spoken with him,” @AndrewJTobias scoops in this great look at how Mike DeWine could have Trump-inspired primary trouble in 2022. Sorry, can't access the article because it's behind a paywall. At least this would get him out of the House. Any Ohioans on here? Can you see him beating DeWine?

1. He has not been popular at the GOP controlled statehouse. He also is costing OSU big bucks
For looking the otherway when the OSU Dr was groping and sexually assualting male athletes.
I can imagine the very ambitious and seen as more moderate Lt Gov Jon Husted,(he's only 53) and #GymJordan in a GOP fight. |

3. Not a surprise. It is clear that DeWine will be primaried from the far, far right.
Also, I wonder if his district will be so safe in the future. Between the census and Ohio’s plan for a bipartisan redistricting commission he might not have a hypergerrymandered district.

8. I seriously worry that Trump's calls to replace governors he hates...
Will result in some seriously batshit candidates running for some really high positions. Think like people like Marjorie Taylor Greene but hold even more power. Trump will be gone, but it won't stop his base from running.

4. The Republicans
in Ohio all hate DeWine now because of Covid and him mandating things. The Democrats aren’t thrilled with him for not doing enough.
Lord we dont need the asshole Jim Jordon! |

If Jordan runs. Way too dangerous to be our Governor.

14. If he gets the nomination, I think he'll win...
I know the Executive of the Ohio Democratic Party and get a lot of input on their political strategies, but after the last two cycles, I've concluded that Ohio is really not a competitive State.
