Trump's quest to overturn election runs into quiet resistance from local and state Republicans

President Trump’s effort to persuade state and local Republicans to help him in overturning the election has so far run into a quiet resistance that could mark a coming end to his attempt at an unprecedented power grab.

The Republican-led Board of Supervisors in Maricopa County, Ariz., voted unanimously Friday to certify the county’s election results, with the board chairman declaring there was no evidence of fraud or misconduct “and that is with a big zero.”

The top GOP lawmakers in Pennsylvania, where counties must submit their official results by Monday, have said they have no role in deciding the winner of the state’s electoral college votes, writing in an op-ed last month that the law “plainly says that the state’s electors are chosen only by the popular vote of the commonwealth’s voters.”

And Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, moved to certify his state’s results Friday, confirming Biden’s win there and refusing to endorse Trump’s claim that the vote was tainted by fraud.

that states, counties, and precincts run their elections. the people who work those elections take pride in their work. many if not most have been through a lot of elections and they have experienced losing, and know it's part of the equation.

trump does not understand this. his cult does not get it and they're so devoted they don't believe it's possible for him to have lost. the people conducting the election know it happened.

trump got a LOT of people to vote. most of them voted against him. it wasn't the landslide i dreamed of, but it's too much of a landslide for trump to make any credible claim that he actually won. i am sickened by the sycophants around him who are too craven to tell him this, or just as bad, as delusional as he is.
