Three times there were phantom candidates on the ballot. Fake names, names similar to the Dem running, even alphabetically first. People were confused and voted for the fake one instead of the real Dem. And real Dem lost.
No one knows who these fake people are. Not even registered to vote. Have not appeared anywhere.

(5,526 posts)here in Florida because they never sent my mail-in ballot. EVERY category listed the REPUB first. My husband and I noticed how obvious it was but went ahead and voted straight DEM, of course. So, yes, how DO they get away with this?

(42,770 posts)In know in TX, perhaps it's the same elsewhere, there were a slew of races with no party affiliation. So you really had to do research beforehand. Then they took away our ability to vote straight party. So you had to be really careful.

(2,574 posts)That's set in stone, and as predictable as the sunrise.
Democrats need to start a think tank in order to determine possible ways that the GOP will steal elections, and then take steps to prevent them from doing so.

(4,552 posts)Yea, thats right.
Silence from the GOP.
Funny how they want to throw out ballots in Detroit and hold up MI certification until they can get to the bottom of all the shady stuff.
Not a single *&%$$ing word about this in Florida.
Why?
Because they won.

(42,770 posts)Florida has a Republican state government trifecta. A trifecta exists when one political party simultaneously holds the governors office and majorities in both state legislative chambers. As of November 24, 2020, there are 21 Republican trifectas, 15 Democratic trifectas, and 14 divided governments where neither party holds trifecta control.
In the 2020 election, Republicans had a net gain of two trifectas and two states under divided government became trifectas. Prior to that election, Florida had a Republican trifecta.

Florida has very lax laws on this sort of thing. The Biden camp gave up on that state early on and didn't put many resources into it.
