That means, even winning back the Cuban vote wouldn't be enough to turn Florida.
What does that mean for liddle Mirco come 2022?

(34,857 posts)So, 1,158,918. It's a big assumption but turnout was up across the board. Let's go with it.
If Biden won Miami-Dade by the margins Hillary did (63-34), he'd pull in 732,667 - or 114,803 votes more than he did.
Trump would have finished with 392,061 votes, or a 140,772 fewer votes than he did.
So, if my math is correct, Trump would have finished with 5,527,959 and Biden would have finished with 5,411,848. So, you are correct, he would have lost the state by roughly 116,000 votes, which would have been very similar to Hillary's margin there four years ago.

(3,282 posts)Why we should put any resources back into Florida. We should abandon it and Ohio and focus on GA and NC.
I'd also add Texas to that list, we keep wasting money and losing.

Way forward is
All in with the Blue wall, plus NC, GA, NV, and AZ.
I will leave Florida to Mike Bloomberg and the New Yorkers.

The numbers are insane. Anyone who knows anything about Miami-Dade and the Cuban vote has to know this.

(21,677 posts)But anyway if Biden pulled the same % of the vote in miami dade as Hillary did, he actually would have won Florida by about 66000 votes. As it is he won MD by about 85000 votes. If we got 64% as Hillary did he would have won by over 300000 votes. if you add 200000 more to Biden and take the same number away from drumpf, drumpf loses.

(89,283 posts)The lack of Ground Campaign was what hurt with Latinos in Texas and Florida the most based on what organizers from the community said .
But the reality is that Florida is just conservative leaning. And tends to be VERY anti tax and anti regulations .
And it doesn't help that people that move to the state tend to be conservative types that go there to get away from taxes and regulations .

(609 posts)Florida just cannot be won. Seniors will vote for GOP from COVID ventilators and Florida Cuban voters and some Hispanics are also moving away. A relative asked me to move to florida. Said I should not worry about global warming. We won't suffer as it will be after decide. Just enjoy Desantis taxes.
Texas was a big defeat for Beto. So sad.
Our state's are GA, AZ, and NC. We are ultimately losing Wisconsin and PA.
We also need to campaign moderately but legislate left. Bernie like candidates do not worry about off year elections and down ballots. GOP has done well bottom up. If GOP had a moderate candidate, we are in trouble. Learn from Bush whom I hated. Campaign as a compassionate conservative, translation moderate, legislate hard right.

(32,017 posts)Florida was a MASSIVE waste of resources this year, and no. It wasnt even close.
If Bloomberg had dumped that much cash in NC, wed probably have an extra Senator and an extra state legislature.
