He doesn't get a vice presidential pension, but at 61 and with more than 10 years of service, he's entitled to get a pension, although it will slightly reduced (about a 2.5% penalty) because he's 6 months short of 62.

Not even at 8am on January 20th, so Pence can sign a pardon.

He will either try to pardon himself, or slip away somewhere over Christmas and not return to DC at all. Although I don't think there's much likelihood of that happening, as he's too narcissistic to be out of the spotlight for more than twenty minutes at a time.

I'd bet my bottom dollar that he's not so squeaky clean in this whole rigmarole. So Trump tells Pence he'll resign if Pence pardons him. Pence does that and I'm sure there's already plenty evidence of Pence's collaboration/knowledge on whatever schemes the trump crime family have been involved in.

As governor he had just been dragged by the entire Indiana business community over his support of the state "Religious Freedom Restoration Act," legislation crafted to pander to his homophobic base. Even the usual mindless boosters of Hoosier Republicans (the folks who were plugging first Mitch Daniels and then Pence as possible presidential candidates the moment they entered the Governor's mansion) stopped talking up Pence as being viable at the national level, and there was real concern that he might not be re-elected.

Then along came Trump to elevate the incompetent from a mess of his own creation...
