Very sadly for our Nation, it looks like Senator @JimInhofe will not be putting the Section 230 termination clause into the Defense Bill. So bad for our National Security and Election Integrity. Last chance to ever get it done. I will VETO!

9. It stops Twitter from being able to put warning labels on his posts.

It makes platforms immune from lawsuits over content. Getting rid of it a double-edged sword for Trump, as if did get rid of it, Twitter could be held responsible for hosting his lies. He just wants to mess with them. And wingnuts think they "censor" right wing viewpoints and that they shouldn't do any fact-checking. The 230 law says social media are a platform and not a publisher, but by fact-checking they are having it both ways, or so the RW thinks.

At least, that's how I understand this.

or he might be bluffing. Either way, there are enough votes on the defense bill to override it.

Pretty dumb idea anyway considering that if 230 didn't exist social media companies would probably need to become incredibly strict on content posted to their site, meaning him and his nutty conspiracy theorist followers would get banned immediately. Any website that features user generated content would have to cut it out or shut down completely.
