for a financial interest in a company that sells weed and would be hurt when everyone can grow it themselves.

First, you need patience. You have this seed, and you expect joints to sprout immediately. It takes a bit of skill to get the thing to grow, then know when to harvest, how to dry, ...

I think just buying the product from a store will be cheaper, faster, and better quality.

I've tried making beer. Store-bought is much quicker, cheaper, and tastier. Deep respect for those amateurs who can create a quality lager.

Not me, for sure (I intend to befriend green thumbs - my thumbs are all black) BUT if it's no longer illegal then everyone can try and the number who do it will certainly be more than there are now. That's gonna cut into profits at businesses that are currently tightly controlled as far as who can produce and sell it.

I firmly believe there are politicians who are invested in keeping weed production as restricted as possible in order to maximize their profits. If not for them personally then for their cronies.

So I hope to find that green thumb friend. I already have a friend who has won several medals at local and state brewing competitions. Hey, maybe it will eventually be the same friend. Mead and Weed!

When the GOP House passed equivalently quixotic legislation like this in the Obama Era (repealing the ACA again and again) we all rolled our eyes and called it grandstanding.

But this is different.

You know what? It worked for them. It fired up their base and brought them votes.

Why shouldn’t we publicize the good things that we do that are blocked by the obstructionist republicans?

This was not even polled for during the election...I doubt it is on anyone's mind. And my opinion is that legalization will happen at the state level and Congress will act only then.

that be need to wave the tax revenues that could be raised from selling this nationwide. What other tax raising mechanism exists out there today (other than the 1%ers who don't pay any tax what-so-ever) that could raise a major chunk of money? And use this money to pay down the federal debt.
