I've been fortunate to live 3/4 of a century in a country that was relatively safe. At least for a middle-class white guy. The virus doesn't care.

I've never had a flu shot, and am worried about the safety of the new vaccines.
I feel like my willingness to get vaccinated is tied more to my concern for my loved ones. I want to see them again, in person, not in a zoom meeting, as one of us is dying.
