So, what do you think the actual inauguration will look like?

Every one social distancing up on the platform/stage... will some kind of Capitol Police make say - the Republican Senators, and Reps social distance , and wear a mask?

Socially distancing, and masks with the chair section?

If they allow people on The Mall -
I believe since I'll be mostly Dems local, and out of town people will social distance, and wear masks.

Makes me mad we can't have a normal Inaugural, esp the absolute joy(!!!!!!!) after Kamala & Biden finish their Oaths!

I was at Clinton's first, and both of Obama's.
Omg! The sheer JOY !!!!!!! 😄

I do hope they have 💖fireworks 💖 !!!

think this through.
.
Though, weren'tthere were a certain amount of distanced people at some points at the Dem Convention.

If they at least do the swearing in outside (except if pouring rain, or snow) with masks, distancing even if it's just Joe, Kamala, their families, and Justice Roberts and everyone else is elsewhere watching ...

and I guess then no one one The Mall.

-sigh-

the first year (with the vaccines and better treatments) and a super inauguration mall party can be held. Sort of like when a couple gets married overseas or has a Vegas wedding but later has a large reception wedding party back home...just a thought. Some dem billionaire could pony up some money...

Not sure if this is allowed, but can the Chief Justice delegate the responsibility of swearing in the vice president to another justice? If so, set PE Biden and his family up in one room, VPE Harris and her family up in another room, and have Elena Kagan swear in Senator Harris while John Roberts swears in Vice President Biden. That way, you've got the maximal social distancing. The rest of us can patch in via the mother of all Zoom calls.

I assume the Networks will carry it.

The camera crew can be outside the rooms telephoto in a bit, and stick the boom mikes through the doors. 👍

Pick one camera operator, give that person a COVID test, and run cables outside to a production truck. Or just use a remote-control camera. Lighting will also be no problem. They'll also need a COVID-negative makeup artist for President Biden. For VP Harris that won't be a problem; she's excellent at applying makeup so she can do her own.

I think MOST of the networks will carry it. OANN and Newsmax will, of course, be covering the superspreader event in Florida that Trump is going to use to try to steal President Biden's thunder, but everyone else will pass on that BS.

That's what TV is for, lol.

Seriously this time I also worry about Metro crowds and trouble making, maskless Trumpers.
