8. A Summary Affirmation

is a way of affirming a lower court decision without hearing further argument. In other words, the plaintiff’s case is so bad and witness/expert testimony so ineffective that the higher court shouldn’t waste any more time on the case. Basically, it’s saying you are clearly going to affirm the lower court’s decision so let’s get on with it.
