(5,528 posts)Deaths today relate to new infections about 3-4 weeks ago when the cases were ~120k per day.
We are going to be in the 3500-4000 range for an extended period before long. It is already baked into the numbers since the new cases have been over 200k for the last week. And since that number hasn't peaked yet, we won't see the deaths peak until at least a month later.
Maybe by inauguration day, this Country will be so shell shocked that they are REALLY ready to accept some new leadership.

We will easily average 2500 deaths/day over the next 40 days.

(5,528 posts)Think of it like scoring in baseball. If a pitcher lets a guy on base, the Earned Run belongs to him even if he scores after the pitcher leaves the game.
Trump will be responsible for all the deaths for people who got sick on his watch. Run those numbers out another 3-4 weeks and it will likely break 500,000.
Even longer if you actually allow some time for Biden policies to take hold.

And that means all activity stops for the few minutes at peak times during the morning, afternoon and evening as a PSA video plays... basically turning social media into an alert 'video' system.
