I cannot imagine the Supreme Court (no matter their individual political persuasion) could ever go along with this nonsense. It would stain their legacy forever -- and if I know lawyers and judges (and I do) legacy is top of their minds.

(42,770 posts)makes him look like a sore loser to more than 51%. And that the majority of sane people grows.
Any political advisor in the world would have told him that if he wants to run again that he has to act now with dignity to the institutions and to be a gracious loser. Oops too late.

(279 posts)Alito referred it to the full court, which then denied the petition. We can't tell from this what Alito's position was or would have been.

Rubbing Trump's Face in His Loss Isn't Just Fun--It's Important
Snip~
So Tuesday is the day. December 8 is the safe harbor deadline by which all the states must resolve all election-related disputes. Then the electors vote next Monday, but that should be anti-climatic, because over the weekend, Biden was certified the winner in California, which gave him 279 electoral votes, and it doesnt look right now as if electors are going to be replaced anywhere; the crazy-ass Republicans of Pennsylvania are up to something, but it looks like its mainly for show. So as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, itll basically be over.

(1,910 posts)Its over and it has to be destroyed. The Georgia Lt. Gov. is on CNN and Trump has called him every name in the book and he is getting threats. Yet he goes on and on about thanking Trump for 4 great years, how he voted for him, how he wants to raise his 3 sons not to respond to name calling. They are all so scared of Trump and his most insane followers.
The entire Republican party is a cult with zero redeeming value. We must educate kids in the Dem way, make every republican a freak, and destroy that party. There is zero value in having 2 parties when one of them is so far gone.
