(36,209 posts)My first reaction was laughter but this suspension shows me how many of the "community" can't take a joke but can sure demonize "Demoncrats."

(36,209 posts)But recently I've had the most fascinating and heartfelt discussions on it with young people about those who pray, this covid situation, science, and the Democratic penchant for stereotyping rural people on the right.

(604 posts)although i think it might be because i labeled it titty bar. ...the 5 babies were lined up in a row like they were sitting at a bar...

(7,656 posts)Crickets. Guess it doesn't violate community standards in my blood red part of Florida. I'll keep trying...
ancianita
(36,209 posts)This could get interesting. Because I'm in Florida, too.
Just no FB friends there. But then some friends of friends might have reported me to see what would happen.

(36,209 posts)I posted it when they KNEW they'd lost and believed the hype that they were robbed.
If you presented a few more from the very popular Hitler series, maybe rw censors (not necessarily FB censors) would notice.

(11,692 posts)Facebook, well hell yes, they're Nazi's burning posts and forcing you into exile. Pretty ironic.

(36,209 posts)the usual 'commie hippie' epithets I've read from Nazi snowflakes.
Thing is, I'm always attacking Big Corp and corporatist Republicans -- which is any of them -- and never humans.

Proud Boys and Boogalosers have occupied FB longer than lefties like us.

(36,209 posts)I rarely post anything as public. I post for friends only.
ancianita
(36,209 posts)When I get back on in a few days, I'll post friends only.
The thing is, what is the community? It's a huge 223 million member balloon with millions of types of bubbles. That doesn't broaden discourse, which any community lives with, but fragments it. One bubble doesn't get sarcasm, one bubble mobilizes for armed gatherings, one shares pet, meal, baby, selfie, nature posts and photos. One upside of going public was the number of likes and comments I got from total strangers, along with the downside of being reported.
It's not a planned thing but it's true that every single urban center in the U.S. is liberal with Democratic Party sympathies, and most rural areas are conservative with Republican sympathies. Maybe FB is that kind of "archipelago."
I'm thinking that 223 million people's differences must be too wide ranging to be tolerated the way the usual notion of communities would tolerate difference. And that, given the popularity of the Hitler video parodies, which probably cuts across a lot of bubbles, the Facebook community standards might be set by the number of "reports" rather than the larger number who get parody and sarcasm. Or maybe the standards are just in FB headquarters.
My kids call it digital book burning.
BainsBane
(53,116 posts)You probably did get a lot of reports. Magats might even be searching for it.
Facebook definitely is an insular bubble, unless you choose to expose yourself to a wider range of people. In my case, I can't be civil with Trump supporters, so I can't handle having them as friends.
ancianita
(36,209 posts)I just can't conclude that there really is a community there to claim standards for.
It's Zuckerberg's business, and I got the business end of it.
