I wonder if the "patriots" so anxious to "water the tree of liberty with blood" have any first-hand

personal experience with shooting and killing people; with being shot at. I don't mean have they been in the military and had training in how to fire a weapon.

I mean have they ever been shot or shot another person?

Have they seen and smelled the blood, the chunks of human torn away from someone they ate breakfast with? Have they ever experienced the surreal bowel-emptying terror of seeing their own bright red blood spurting out rhythmically as their heart pounded? Have they ever shot at a real fellow human being instead of a firing range silhouette?

Only drugstore cowboys and GI Joe wannabes could be so eager to "go to war" rather than wear a damned piece of cloth over their face or even to put a maniac in power who despises them.

2. Have they spoken with any uniformity about WHOM they wish to shoot?

diGenova mentioned Krebs in a manner which he subsequently claimed was only a joke.

Who else is on their hit list? Is there a leader among these patriots declaring his readiness to fire the first shot?

Perhaps their concern is that uttering too many specifics risks a visit from the Secret Service.

particularly politicians in office, that they want to assassinate, like a governor, Senator, House member? Wouldn't surprise me if some RW nut has such a list.

Mostly, though, I think they will threaten people, try to intimidate them. I suppose there's a chance of a bombing. Or of bricks through windows. Running people down with cars. Shooting didn't seem to bother Rittenhouse.

4. I once pissed off a white supremacist group with a letter to the editor

I had actually done my high school research project on white supremacy groups so I wasn't worried about this one as they were mainly fat bubba types who go out into the woods, drink beer, and shoot the cans while fantasizing about a coming race war that they hope to jump on the coattails of after the shooting has stopped (assuming their side won, of course). That's what a lot of these, "I'll die for Trump," types are. However, that still doesn't mean we shouldn't watch out for the really crazy ones willing to put deed to word.

I'm also reminded of a joke - I can't remember the comedian who did it, but the Pope needed a heart transplant, and letters came in from around the world from people willing to donate their heart to the Pontiff. So it was decided that everyone wishing to donate would gather in St. Peter's Square in a month's time - the last possible day the Pope could survive without a new heart, and the Pope would drop a feather. Whoever the feather landed on would make the historic donation. Unfortunately the Pope died because for the next 24 hours, all you could hear from the square were people saying, "Pope, take my heart!" followed by the sound of loud puffs of air to blow the feather away.

9. The US military has not taken serious casualties since Vietnam

All subsequent military actions have involved overwhelming force against inferior forces.

Even the more major engagements, such as the second battle of Fallujah involved light casualties -- 95 killed, 540 wounded out of 10,500 American troops.
