Huge, enthusiastic crowd on campus of UW Madison--about 30,000 people. Cheering for our president and for Tammy Baldwin, our candidate for US Senate. Obama was on fire and said last night he debated somebody 'who claimed to be Mitt Romney' but who contradicted the 'real Mitt Romney' on issue after issue. We are fired up and ready to deliver Wisconsin to the Democratic ticket in November.

(6,994 posts)I think the President did a great job of turning Mitts promises and lies into a super advantage for himself...I watched the complete video and several times I caught myself thinking why didn't he just take his stump speech and pull out the facts and present them to Rmoney...but thats over and i have all the confidence in the world that we will win this thing..and I cant wait to hear Rmoney's concession speech.

(7,759 posts)She even loan me her laptop cause mine is on the blink. I was feeling so down after watching MSNBC. I thought, 'if they can be that angry at the President for not doing what they wanted him to do, how many people are THEY turning off from voting?'
Sleep did not come easy. I was more angry at the pundits who I thought were on our side than at the President. He knows what he is doing and we don't! He is after all the President and has many things to deal with besides prepping for a debate where the opponent is a proven liar.

(18,672 posts)I didn't watch because I am a wimp, but was here. I knew Romney did better than expected (which isn't saying much) when DU started having power surges 20 minutes in. Still - when you talk to the average person, they either thought the debates were boring, or were angry because Romney was so rude.

(332 posts)He simply said,"Romney 'won' solely from his so called style--he just lied and said nothing with any real details nor truth..." I replied,"so he was jive talking and the President won on the details and fine print?" "Yep, jive talking !!"
So let the pundits smile about the jive talk, because most of the voters have already decided by this point anyway And that crowd sure didn't look like they were depressed to see him either!

(1 post)WI_DEM, can I get a copy of this photo (hopefully the highest resolution you have)? I'm down in New Mexico, but my Dad was volunteering at the Bascom Hill rally and is in the front row. I'd love to get a printable copy I can blow up, print and send to him framed.
Thanks!
