Turning Point USA held a sold-out $2,000/person gala at Mar-a-Lago on Friday night. Based on photos posted to Instagram, it appears at least 280 people attended the reception and dinnerand that COVID-19 prevention policies were not followed.
Palm Beach Countys COVID-19 directives require wearing facial coverings inside all businesses and establishments as well as outdoors when social distancing is not being practiced. Additionally, the directives mandate adhering to the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions social-distancing guidelines, which currently require staying six feet away from other people.
COVID-19 has killed more than 318,000 people in the United States, according to Johns Hopkins University. The CDC predicts the pandemic will get worse in the coming weeks.

(22,383 posts)"The Masque of the Red Death" (originally published as "The Mask of the Red Death: A Fantasy" is a short story by American writer Edgar Allan Poe, first published in 1842. The story follows Prince Prospero's attempts to avoid a dangerous plague, known as the Red Death, by hiding in his abbey. He, along with many other wealthy nobles, hosts a masquerade ball in seven rooms of the abbey, each decorated with a different color. In the midst of their revelry, a mysterious figure disguised as a Red Death victim enters and makes his way through each of the rooms. Prospero dies after confronting this stranger, whose "costume" proves to contain nothing tangible inside it; the guests also die in turn.

(100,090 posts)The inspectors found things like exposed rebar in the pool area, roaches, rodents, under cooked food, and that was just in one inspection. It was pretty horrifying and not a place I would stay at even if you paid me!
