Er, what deal? Negotiations arent deals until and unless they turn into actual deal points.
And what makes Cornyn think that Yertle would have allowed a floor vote on a$1.8-trillion package that was negotiated without any input from Senate Rs?

(82,849 posts)The Mnuchin offer was months ago, and the Majority Leader was saying there was no way in hell he was going to consider the HEROES Act the House sent over in March, or anything coming out of the Mnuchin-Pelosi-Schumer negotiations. So yeah, the Mnuchin "deal" was turned down by the House because McConnell had already said publicly the Senate wouldn't take it up.
It was only after the November election that McConnell decided maybe it was time to consider moving ahead with a relief package. By that time the citizens had been screaming for help for more than six months. So Senator Cornyn, you're welcome to shove this mythical deal up your ass.
