Can anyone else recall a historical example of when a president of the United States has spoken - and it's public - to an individual facing felony federal prosecution?

although Rebozo was never indicted for it, he was under investigation as a "bagman' for illegal campaign slush funds, including the fund that paid for Watergate break in.

...where Brannon was orchestrating the post election protest campaign with assistance from Roger Stone?
Considering all of the batshit crazy antics, I would believe that Bannon is driving it, because this ends his “movement” and he has no power other than his website following.
