Lame Duck Mode. A tale of two presidents
Jimmy Carter.
Burned the midnight oil on the eve of Reagan's inauguration to bring the American hostages home from Iran, where they had been held captive for 444 days. In spite of Reagan's behind the scenes underhandedness to maneuver the hostage release in order to benefit him politically. In spite of the optics and how bad it would make Carter look, the only thing he cared about was getting those people home, period. Worked tirelessly right up to the the start of the inauguration ceremony.
Donald Trump.
