I guess if you're the poster-child for gluttony and avarice, 2012 just isn't a good year for you to run.
The next time that fat f&ck opens his mouth to denigrate #OWS or the President, please keep this in mind:
At the end of the day Chris Christie is a coward with a very, very big mouth.
K&R if you agree.

(33,497 posts)I do agree that he has a big mouth and sounds like he is auditoning for a role on 'The Soprano's' most of the time. I also think that given people's prejudice about weight that if he actually did run he would have a hard time winning. It's like all the studies which show that despite how talented or how much experience a heavier person has they will often not get a job if up against a equally talented (or maybe even not as talented) slimmer person.

Christie and 99% of the GOP would make sure securities fraud is never part of federal consumer fraud laws.

Really?
Only in this society are fat people considered repulsive and drug addicts are revered for weeks after their deaths.

(146,288 posts)Fat Fuck is not an acceptable expression on DU, or has never been in the past, at least. Christie is a Republican asshole. His weight is not the reason for that.
Please don't do this on DU.

(44 posts)Gluttony results in girth. Greed knows no bounds.
Think of it this way. I'm not making fun of all fat people, or implying that all fat people are made fat by their failings.
Christie, however...you can draw a line from his greed right to his mouth.

(25,415 posts)My aunt gained weight recently. She was diagnosed with hypothyroidism. Christie could have lots of health factors that make it harder for him to control his weight. I take insulin as a diabetic, makes it hard to lose any weight. Who knows with Christie? His politics are enough to attack him with. Going after someone's weight is just so...Republican.
Broadsword
(44 posts)I'm pretty sure that it's not hypothyroidism. I am pretty sure it's a penchant for filet mignon, creamed spinach, bread and booze. And not in that order.
Here he is about 20 years ago:
His weight is totally fair game. It belies his philosophy, and his weaknesses.

(8,646 posts)bullshit.
I was thin as a teen.
I also skipped meals and exercised obsessively - so much so I wore out my knees and wrecked my feet and ankles.
I have PCOS. Had it as a teen. At some point, probably when I was pregnant with my first child, I gave up trying to be anorexic (and look normal) and just started eating normally. The weight piled on, especially after I started on anti-depressants. I'm also severely insulin resistant - that means I gain fat easily and I'm famished all of the time - on a normal diet. The only thing that helps with that is eating low carb, which I've been doing since Nov and I've lost no weight (but at least I"m not starving, and shaking 2 hours after a meal anymore). It has nothing to do with character or gluttony. The average obese person eats no more than the equivalent of a extra piece of bread per day of a normal-weight person. I'd hardly call an extra piece of bread a day 'gluttonous'.
If we are going to judge people on their 'weaknesses' then we have to include drugs and sex addictions in that.

(63,912 posts)And she keeps getting fatter.
She was never heavy as a kid or as a teen (she was a cheerleader!). She really started getting heavy after she was diagnosed with diabetes. But her husband is diabetic as well and he is somewhat lean. I can't understand why if they both take insulin that one is so heavy and the other not...
Jennicut
(25,415 posts)I have never been obese like Chris Christie. But to maintain my current weight I must stick to 1400 cals a day. Anything over that and I can gain 5 pounds quickly. I have had type 1 diabetes for 7 years now and have talked to so many different people about taking insulin. Some people have no reactions to it and others detest having to take it because of the weight gain some people get with taking it. Of course, it saves my life everyday so what else can you do?
CTyankee

Christie is so overweight he's considered morbidly obese. Food does not play a proper role in either his psyche or his life, and I'd hesitate to vote for him even if he were a Democrat because the pressures of being the leader of the free world would most likely make him eat even more.
