Matthew 7:15 is the fifteenth verse of the seventh chapter of the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament and is part of the Sermon on the Mount. This verse begins the section warning against false prophets.

5. Yeah, it bugs me that awful people try to co-opt Christianity to be evil. It just sucks.

Being a Christian is about keeping your own nose clean and trying to help others at it's core.

Old Testament, all kinds of laws and retribution.

New Testament, OK time out. Let's treat each other like brothers and sisters, but maybe a little bit nicer.

BE the CHANGE and BE the leader. DO the right thing because it is the best thing for humanity.

All this crap about someone telling me who to hate in God's name, is just that, crap. Yeah, I mean YOU Pope Benedict.

But Christians can be wrong and stupid. Doesn't mean the core of the message is really bad.

That all the people actually working for Democracy are pointless because there are people like tRump.

That Joe Biden is pointless because there are people like tRump.

DEMOCRACY is bigger than tRump and all his tantrums and Christianity is bigger than those who abuse power and try to claim they are doing it in God's name.

The CORE of Christianity is to be like Christ who gave his life for others. Believe it or don't, but if someone is really following the example of Christ, they are just doing their best to get through this life living by a moral code.

AND yes, I have had many conversations with Pagans even Druids about how the Church has been used and gone out and abused people. Spanish Inquisition. I know. Crusades. Yeah. Pope Benedict. Sigh. Yes.

But then you have someone like Pope Francis coming in and declaring this coming year, the year of the family and redefining what that should look like, taking the BS out and putting the open loving heart of God out there.

I am not saying everyone should be a Christian, but I am hard on other Christians because I think they should abide by Judge NOT lest ye be judged. Don't remember the exact chapter and verse, but it is in there. Judgement is mine saith the Lord. NOT that every little petty person should think themselves righteous enough to be judge and jury for anyone.

Jesus himself was a rebel who stood up to the Pharisees and called them on their hypocrisy. If people really study his life, they know he's more on the side of "the people" than "the man".
