Luke Letlow, US congressman-elect, dies of Covid aged 41

Luke Letlow, Louisiana’s incoming Republican congressman, has died from complications related to Covid-19 at the age of 41.

“The family appreciates the numerous prayers and support over the past days but asks for privacy during this difficult and unexpected time,” Letlow’s spokesman, Andrew Bautsch, said in a statement. “A statement from the family along with funeral arrangements will be announced at a later time.”

He was a father of two young children. He should have been more responsible. It's probably just blind luck that he didn't infect his wife and children. Hopefully he had a good life insurance policy.

Luke Letlow, elected to represent Louisiana’s 5th Congressional District in a runoff election earlier this month, died of COVID-19 complications in a Shreveport hospital Tuesday night. Letlow, 41, is survived by his wife and two children, and while a number of people are mourning him today, a number of people are also going online to post photos of maskless campaign events leading up to Letlow’s Dec. 18 diagnosis.
