I’m not a great fan of Roberts, but iirc, he is a devout Catholic and the adoptions were arranged from Ireland in the usual manner. (If he and his wife were given priority because of their high status, well, that doesn’t sound all that “unusual” in this world.) Wales is not known for its Catholic orphanages afaik.
