the snow, and walk on the snow. Even if there’s ice under the snow, it’s still easier to stay upright on a layer of snow.

It works loads better!
And you also avoid injury!
(knees,ankles, elbows, backs, skulls -- even if you're a young person -- falling hard messes up your body!) (ask the emergency room how many busted elbows they see a winter!)

If you were injured and they could show that it was the result of not wearing your cleats, you were in for a miserable 9 months of close scrutiny. The cleats they gave us sucked, but it was worth finding more effective alternatives.
