Ridiculous.
Also, maybe too many doses were sent to GOP strongholds where - they are anti-vaxxers!

(16,451 posts)I literally cannot WAIT to get that vaccine. I've been bummed out enough that there's not nearly enough to go around for people like me and my husband who really want it. And now I hear there are doses going to waste because there are jackholes who are stupid enough to turn it down? GRRRRR!!!

(8,020 posts)The vaccine is very temp sensitive, they can only give the vaccine to a determined group of people now, if they used the vaccine on whomever they could get their hands on & these people weren't a part of the initial treatment group they would be in hot water also. Not making excuses for them, they obviously made a mistake not planning ahead better & its a mistake that is going to happen, a lot, across the country. Its an imperfect system dealing with an imperfect product.

(9,323 posts)are back of the line for vaccine and dont bother checking on that. The people that do check are being told to hang tight. Why not tell some of them to come on down and get the shot if its going to waste? What a tragedy!

(55,147 posts)We have seniors standing in line overnight & many of them are being turned away! One of our vaccine sites had a line a mile long! It's Horrifying how this is being handled in Florida.

(45,120 posts)for the chronic care to go first and the over 65. She said she's been hearing from some patients for the last couple of months that they won't get the vaccine because they don't trust it. I told her name the date I'll be there but I would also rather they consider vaccinating younger people who are looking out for their parents, like my daughters who do the shopping so I don't have to go out. I think that rather than watching the vaccine go bad they should offer it to others even if they aren't eligible.
