Republicans have made clear for years that they lack constructive ideas to respond to Americans real-world concerns. In lieu of rational responses to rising health-care costs or falling K-12 test scores or income inequality, they rant about Confederate flags and the New York Timess 1619 Project ...
Nikki Haley .. once had a reputation for sane conservative views. She removed the Confederate flag from the state capitols grounds and even denounced then-candidate Donald Trumps proposed Muslim ban ... She actually scolded Trump for his moral equivalence regarding the neo-Nazi march in Charlottesville.
Now, she is reduced to hollering about socialism ...
... mindless denunciation of policies Democrats are not pursuing, appealing to White grievance, reiterating delusions of Christian persecution and uttering empty platitudes about capitalism are what pass for Republican ideas these days. And .. Haley is one of the smarter and saner Republicans. She simply lacks .. intellectual integrity, creativity and courage ...
... She might consider coming up with an actual agenda that improves the lives of the people to whom she is pandering. That would be novel in todays GOP.

(16,616 posts)He was onto Nikki Haley early on, recognizing her to be a lightweight that pundits took too seriously. There are some good zingers against her in that book.
got that she's a vacuous zero the first time I heard her speak.

(14,566 posts)she is easy on the eyes and has a calm demenor, that is enough for them to be WAY to happy to portray her as above the lunatic fringe.
Same with Paul Ryan, had the bookish looks and soft voice, so he was anointed some kind of intellectual.
