“As his days in office come to a close, President Donald Trump has hinted to those close to him that he’s worried his influence within Republican circles may be waning,” the Daily Beast reports.

“Fearful of party stalwarts growing comfortable crossing him, the president has pushed to keep up the pressure and plot possible revenge scenarios against potential turncoats.”

Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) wrote on Facebook that the effort in Congress to reverse President-elect Joe Biden’s electoral college victory was a “dangerous ploy.”

Said Sasse: “All the clever arguments and rhetorical gymnastics in the world won’t change the fact that this January 6th effort is designed to disenfranchise millions of Americans simply because they voted for someone in a different party. We ought to be better than that.”

Donnie boy. You don't need to fear your influence is waning, you can take it to the bank, your influence is over, kaputt, zilch. You were nobody to the Republican party before you won the nomination, and you will be nobody in the Republican party the second after Biden takes the oath of office. Don't kid yourself.
