I just heard McConnell say, about the $2,000 stimulus check

I just heard this on CNN where they played a short video clip of Senator McConnell saying the $2,000 stimulus check is a socialist aid program for the rich.

Recently I read or heard that of the 40 poorest counties in the United States,
20 of them are in Kentucky,
home of Senator McConnell.

I'm guessing they could use that $2,000 stimulus check.

Now about those $2000 relief checks: their availability to an individual or family is based on their last tax return. SO -- "rich" people won't get them.

His argument is two things:

pretentiously hypocritical
invalid based on to whom the checks would be distributed.

BUT - Americans are idiots - especially the conservatives. So they'll buy his rhetoric, no matter how WRONG it is.

Anybody making over $174,000, filing jointly, gets nothing. I'm sure of that, because we're getting nothing. The amount per person doesn't matter when one gets none of it.
$174,000 is quite comfortable, but not rich. We are quite comfortable, not rich.
Seems more that he's mad that people like his wife and he get nothing, too. As if we could compare his household's finances to my wife's & mine.

"Sen. Bernie Sanders: "Do you want to talk about socialism for the rich, Mr. Majority Leader? Under that bill, Charles Koch, one of the very richest people in America, he has a net worth of $113 billion. That bill gave Mr. Koch a $1.4 billion tax break."

Bernie Sanders just stuffed Mitch McConnell in a locker.

“Let me just make it clear for the majority leader — that 10 out of the poorest 25 counties in the US are located in Kentucky.”
