I forgot, there is no shame in the Kracken caucus.

All for show, blow, or hope that Virginian Hawley will be his friend. What a group of nutbags. O brave new world that has such people in it.

(11,018 posts)Roger Marshall ran against Dr. Barbara Bollier and is our traitorous senator-elect. And yes, she is a "real" doctor if anyone wants to go down that route.

(34,135 posts)but the influence of Kobach may have been something once but it is not here now. As far as I know our elections are good. It is easy to vote and we are not gerrymandered. That will change with the solidifying of the Republican super majority this year. Hopefully we can take it from them and get it to the Kansas Supreme Court like the last time when it was drawn up by Brownback and Kobach. They straightened it out.
Still, I would not be surprised to see some hinky voting but the state, being so much rural, does not surprise me with its tendency to go right. We got a start fixing it with Dean's 50 state strategy and it helped right away. It sadly only lasted as long as Dean did with that strategy. People in the Democratic party have been loathe to go past Salina to work. It is a stop and start kind of thing. It needs to happen solidly for a long effort with groups spread out across the state. We used that strategy when setting up our statewide LGBT group and it has firmly held together partly and maybe mostly because of that. SO, it can be done.
I am no longer very involved. Did my time and now just working the farm. There could very well be a lot focusing on these issues, I sure hope so. Right now it is not great at all here evidenced by our firm support of Trump. I thank goodness that my county has finally gone blue.
