Raffensperger held off releasing the tape till Trump lied about the phone call on Twitter

Jim Roberts
@nycjim

*Georgia Sec/State Brad Raffensperger had told aides not to release recording of the call unless Donald Trump attacked state officials or misrepresented what was said.
*Trump obliged with a tweet on Sunday morning.

I like the idea of a Trump hoisting himself on his own petard, but I don’t like the idea of a criminal act being hidden. Maybe Raffensperger would have released it anyway and this claim just gives him a little cover.

Nancy should call for a vote of impeachment tomorrow in the House and then let the GOP on the
senate try to defend the indefensible.

We know trumpig, pence & graham have harassed Ga officials, but he needs several swing states to win
not just one. Sooner or later it'll come out how they harassed Mi, Pa , Wi, and the sooner the better.

7. Assumptions that depend on how it was recorded. The NYT reports otherwise:
Sun Jan 3, 2021, 11:05 PM
Jan 2021
Officials in the secretary of state’s office recorded Saturday’s call, and Mr. Raffensperger told his advisers that he did not want to release a transcript or a recording unless the president attacked state officials or misrepresented what had been discussed, according to a person familiar with his direction.

As expected, that attack came in a tweet on Sunday morning, in which Mr. Trump claimed that Mr. Raffensperger “was unwilling, or unable, to answer questions such as the ‘ballots under table’ scam, ballot destruction, out of state ‘voters’, dead voters, and more. He has no clue!”

In a response on Twitter, Mr. Raffensperger wrote: “Respectfully, President Trump: What you’re saying is not true. The truth will come out.” The recording of the call was made public several hours later.

that works on Android 10 or 11. When I put my phone on speaker, the caller is louder than me, even more so when I'm further away from my phone.

Also, trump has now filed a ridiculous lawsuit against GASOS, making the entire argument moot.

Ms. Gardner was working a story. She no doubt reached out to the WH for a comment before publication. This is protocol and expected. Trump then worked on defense and thus the blaze story he Tweeted about.

It been quite funny looking at multiple Twitter feeds where Trumpers are after Raffensperger's blood for releasing the recording, only to be contradicted by other Trumpers who claim it was released by the White House to show Raffensperger up.
