Long time habits are hard to break.
ETA - I still tease my niece about the time when she was little and my mother had asked her to hand her a "tablet" and my niece handed her my old ipad, and my mom had to show her what a paper "tablet" looked like.

(6,594 posts)Blame it on years in the audio biz, being an engineer, & being a musician & studio owner, it bugs me when folks call a "recording" a "tape."
I have plenty of legacy studio tapes, reel-to-reel analog multitrack, ADAT 8 track digital, DAT stereo digital, heck even some old 4 track analog cassettes of things I recorded with friends in high school. Those are all tapes. Things I record in the studio on hard disk or on location using a portable solid state recorder or even the things I record on my cell phone are not tapes, there's no tape involved in the process, they're recordings.
To me it's like saying "I'm riding my bicycle to the store" when you're actually driving your car to the store. Both are vehicles, but a bicycle is not a car.
Thank you for attending my TED talk.

(11,885 posts)I believe we'll learn he's called many others trying to shake them down to help him, including politicians, judges, Supreme Court Justices, people in the DOJ, and many others. I would be shocked if trump doesn't have others compromised forcing them for help, including Cruz.

(21,362 posts)A comprehensive investigation needs to be had. What Trump is doing is called a coup and we need to hold him and his enablers accountable or this will happen again.

They would not want to give up the gravy train anyway, but the prospect of facing the music for treason & grifting is likely not pleasant.

Trump Wins again.
Not that its relevant to the thread, but Judas Iscariot betrayed Jesus once. It was the Apostle Peter who denied him 3 times.
Sorry, nerd here! 😊

The Republicans would have gone ballistic. And also most American democrats.

(1,990 posts)The timing of this call and the 12 Republican Senators "announcement" is no coincidence. Trump probably told them he had several states ready to announce they were going to "audit" or "review" the results and those idiots believed him, thinking they had "cover" for the stupid "10 day emergency audit" where they could then argue that the certification had to be stopped on 01/06 because States were going to change their results. So he then starts calling Georgia, Michigan, Arizona and Pennsylvania SOS's.

Imo making the call with intent to discredit certification IS the crime
The call dialogue satisfy Mens Rea
the act is not culpable unless the mind is guilty".
Trumps #decision to speak directly to the #Georgia SoS etc, & to dominate even allude to charging GA SOS criminally in the 1 hr call IS the #crime.
Trump can also sue his lawyers for incompetence, true?

I wouldnt be shocked if his trophy wife dumps him by February.
Only Hitler and a handful of other despots challenge his level of Sociopathy but he is by a wide margin the dumbest.
