Let's do the same for Stacey Abrams.

(8,329 posts)Time for me to eat some shit. On election night, I was pissed at Stacy, Beto and Sharrod Brown. I thought we wasted time and money on seats that were not winnable. As the vote grew closer and closer in GA, she was the only hope for a bright spot in the senate and an unbelievable POtUS win. The Money that went there was well spent on organizing and getting out the vote and that was Stacy!
The republicans stole an election from her and she has now made them pay. I wasted my money on a senate race in North Carolina and South Carolina (although I am still a big Jamie Fan) and wish I sent that last 300 to GA instead of to the two races that I did
Great job Stacy! Thank You, you are amazing

(43,349 posts)and the MAGAts came out in droves in TX for Rump and him.
IF you are going to be angry about wasted money, TX is correct though, just it didn't matter who we had run.. Same for Maine (to a degree), and the BIG TWO, South Carolina, where Harrison took one very iffy poll that showed him even a month plus out, and then ramrodded advert after advert using that same poll over and over and over (which put far too many in a trance that he was going to win when it never was remotely close in reality), plus finally, Kentucky, where there was always zero chance for McTurtle to lose, especially to a weak candidate.
TX, KY, SC, and Maine (Maine being the least bad in terms of winnability, but again, we had a weak candidate who was NOT a native Mainer, which torched her) all sucked up SO much money, and Bullock in MT and Theresa Greenfield in IA ended up cash starved and could not counter the INSANE 'they are commies who will burn down all the cities' (in Montana and Iowa!! LOLOL) hundreds of millions in Rethug adverts that buried them the last 2, 3 weeks.
And do not get me started on sexter Cunningham in NC, who BLEW a probably sure win with that scandal. Jeff Jackson should have run, he would have won (and hopefully runs in 2022 for the open NC seat).
Also am so pissed at Kathleen Sebelius, who was our only hope (and actually would have been the favourite to outright win according to almost every KS insider, Dem and Rethug) in KS, but refused to run, and the same for Tim McGraw in TN, who has now TWICE refused to run (2018 and 2020) for OPEN seats, after swearing he would run for a decade plus when he hit 50 years of age (he is 54 on this coming 1st of May). He would have won in 2018 over that piece of doggie MAGAt moron Marsha Blackburn.

(8,329 posts)To send money and schedule a trip for either both Biden or Senator Harris or both as he was confidant that Ohio was in play. 10 days out from the election, the VP spent 2 days in Ohio.
Although Brown was not on the ticket, nor was Beto in TX they were the ones claiming the states were close enough for resources and visits.
Lost TX by over 5% and Ohio by 8
My wife and I budgeted 1000 dollars for democratic candidates. In the last month we were sending our last 300. She picked Jamie for 100, I picked that raging asshole Cal Cunningham and then we decided to send 100 to powered by people. The PAC Beto started in TX. Neither of us wanted to waste our money on Maine, we thought that race was over and Guideon had more money than. Ever for a seat in Maine.
Basically we blew 300 dollars. We did. It even look at GA. We blew that.
We made up for it to the best of our ability by sending a hundred to warnock and osoff in the run off

(43,349 posts)I maxed out to Bullock, and it was just not in the cards. Daines is as close to as stupid a Senator (along with Blackburn, Ernst, Hyde-Smith, and Ron Johnson) as there was in the Senate. He is a complete duncy fool.
I had no idea (obviously) that Cunningham would blow it late with a sex scandal, but for well over a year I said Cunningham was as the worst candidate we could have had of the big 4 (Jackson, Foxx, Stein, and of course Cal). I absolutely thought he would still win, as Tillis was just a sitting duck, the biggest in the nation in terms of Rethug elected incumbents, but of course he blew it late (probably not the best choice of words, lol).
I also, at the end of the day (although I was deadly accurate on the POTUS, same as 2016 I only missed 2 states, FL and MN in 2016, GA and NC this time) was way off on Rump's coattails and Biden large lack of them. I had us (and this is without GA) winning back the Senate 52-48 (so that would have put us at 54-46 with the 2 GA wins) and picking up 4 or 5 net House seats (so would be at 245ish compared to what we had post 2018, 241), but instead, we ended up losing a net 19.

As a person who has an unusual double name, people who respect you, get your name right. Please pay attention and respect the person by spelling their name correctly.

(9,988 posts)Imagine someone with her skills as Attorney General! Can we start a grass-roots campaign to get Biden to appoint her? She is light years ahead of anyone who has been mentioned so far.
Edited to add: We need a Stacy Abrams in all states that are trending purple to get us over the goal, especially mine (Texas). The 2022 governors race here is really important in light of the gerrymandering and further voter restrictions Republicans will pass.

(11,563 posts)As I said in another thread:
And....all hail Stacey Abrams! Not a shred of doubt that the entire blue population owes her a huge amount of gratitude, and any job she wants in the party or administration. In fact, the entire world just got better, and all its people should feel grateful, as well.
This day would not have come without her, and no one will convince me otherwise...although I'd be interested to see the effort.
