Ted Cruz climbed aboard the wrong wagon and now his political career is in a ditch.

He is one reason why Republicans lost in GA. He's gathered the support of less than a quarter of Republican Senators. Spreading conspiracy theories about voter fraud didn't do anything to elect Republicans. I can only imagine how much most GOP Senators must hate his guts. He thinks he can be the new Trump. Go for it! Follow in the footsteps of the world's biggest loser!

but I think he might have a decent chance if he runs for governor since Abbott has lost support among Republicans for his handling of the COVID situation who are upset about the business closures and mask requirements.

If we are lucky Cruz might not be in the 2024 race for senator anyway (see my comment below).

FROM Expedia:

Elec. Code § 145.001(e) permits a person to run for office and simultaneously be a candidate for President or Vice President of the United States. This statute permitted Lyndon B. Johnson to run for Vice President in 1960 and, at the same time, seek re-election as United States Senator from Texas.

He's gonna give a big boring speech about nothing: He will throw about bombs about, "Founding fathers, liberty, need for stricter voter laws"...He may back down from rejecting the electoral college...

I'm speculating

Apparently ass-kissing the man who publicly stated Cruz’s wife was ugly and Cruz’s father was part of the plot to kill JFK didn’t gather up any glory. Sad!
