1. Not before the two Senators from Georgia are sworn in

Then iím sure there will be procedural votes on leadership etc.

9. Actually not until the two Senators are sworn in AND Vice President Harris is sworn in.

Even with the two Georgia Senators in place, Mike Pence still break ties until 12:01 on the 20th.

2. very late January?

couple things have to happen.
First we dont get the tie-breaking vote with VP till Biden/Kamala are sworn in.
Second - the Ossoff victory is probably not going to be certified for several days. It's within the Georgia recount range so there will probably be a recount first... I imagine they'll certify his win in a couple weeks.

4. Ossoff is over the threshold for recount.

Easily. There will be no recount.

3. Jan 20, because the VP breaks the tie.....

The GA Sens will be in as soon as certified, but the tiebreak will be Pence until the 20th.

6. Thanks all for the explanations....

I was hoping it would be real soon so that we could impeach and convict....

A girl can dream, can't she?

8. After the two Georgia Senators are sworn in and Vice President Harris is sworn in.

Before Vice President Harris is sworn in, there is a deadlock, so McConnell remains Senate President.

10. I looked this up last night

The latest possible is Jan. 22. That's the last day Georgia's secretary of state (Raffensberger) has to ratify the results. But since Trump kind of declared war on Raffensberger, he might do it sooner. It could be as soon as Jan. 15th.

11. As soon as GA certifies

Since both elections are outside of the recount threshold....should be about a week or so.
