With all due respect, the Georgia phone call was a fairly significant development, as well. n/t demmiblue Jan 2021 #3

And the Speaker herself is now calling for impeachment. She wasn't either after the phone call because just as Jeffries knew, there was only two and a half weeks left and we'd be rid of trump. But now with the loose cannon, out-of-control fool trump demonstrating he is capable of immeasurable damage to the country in a short time, of course we should get him out by any means necessary.

Which is why just this morning Madame Speaker puts it out to Pence that if he doesn't remove trump with the 25 Amendment she will move to impeach.

And why the piling on on Jeffries? He's always shown that he is loyal to and gets his marching orders from Pelosi. And both of them, just like I and the vast majority of people thought the 25th was the more practical way to get rid of trump because there wasn't enough time for impeachment. You did too, probably.

And let's face it, even if the Speaker does move to impeach, McTurtle and the republicans are still the same obstacle in the Senate as they were the first time and won't vote to remove. But time will run out on it anyway so it's of symbolic value at best.

Again, Jeffries doesn't speak independently of the Speaker.
