But it just seems so sad to me that Joe Biden, who won fair and square, has to go through the reality of this country right now.
Many of his votes were mail-ins but that was just because people were trying to protect themselves when voting, against a deadly virus which trump (on tape,) knowingly hid from us.
Inauguration should be the best moment in your well deserved career, life and efforts. Now, because of an ex you will be going through it with utter fear.

(9,999 posts)the inauguration he deserves, all the pomp and celebration that winning a hard fought campaign should bring. I want to watch him and Jill take the inaugural walk and cheer them on.
I am also sad that we couldn't take more time to enjoy the Senate wins - both in GA and leadership. But once again, Trump sucked all the oxygen out of the room.
I do try to take time everyday to be thankful for the better government that is on the way.

(8,574 posts)He always would have been a good president any of the times he's run as in competent, even handed, steady policies, et cetera but he has bloomed under these crises in a way I never expected, and I've been watching him for forty years now. He's got a vision and plans, and he gets what today's world is and is about. He is making choices and areas of focus that are far bolder than he would have in previous years. He's adapted and changed with the time we are in, and he's meeting the great moment of need we are in...and that is exciting because that's where times of great progress are born. This is his moment. He's connected, he's in control and in charge. I am enjoying it so much! I supported Liz Warren in the primaries this time; I was always very comfortable with Joe as the candidate but it was comfort, not any true excitement, not then - but there some is now. Even in the midst of this shitshow, I am absurdly happy because the election on Tuesday gave us a mandate, and the attempted coup on Wednesday gives us the moral high ground...and scared the bejeezus out of a large chunk of America, and all the Republicans in Congress who never thought their supporters would go that far. The fates have conspired to hand us a much better hand than we expected a year ago, or a month ago for that matter.
