The New York City Fire Department has turned over information to the FBI on multiple members who were allegedly at the U.S. Capitol when rioters charged the building.
A spokesperson for the FDNY confirmed that a number of its members reportedly identified as being at Wednesday's riot that led to the deaths of four people and a U.S. Capitol Police officer.
"The Department received anonymous allegations that active or retired members were present at the events at the United States Capitol on January 6 and, as required, has provided that information to the FBI," Frank Dwyer, a spokesperson for the FDNY, said.

FBI asks FDNY to name active or retired firefighters at Capitol siege
The FBI is investigating whether active or retired FDNY firefighters took part in the siege at the US Capitol, The Post has learned.
The department issued a statement Saturday in response to questions about a photo posted to Twitter of a man wearing a jacket marked FDNY Squad 252 on the back, standing near the entrance to the Capitol and carrying an American flag.
The department received anonymous allegations that active or retired members were present at the events at the United States Capitol on January 6 and, as required, has provided that information to the FBI, the statement said

Squad 252 is a Special Operations Command located at 617 Central Ave. in Bushwick, Brooklyn.

(11,949 posts)Of four seditionist and one brave Officer of the Law defending the Republic. That is more accurate.
The irony is that the heroic officer who died was very conservative, no doubt voted for trump, but valued the country over the man. Died doing his job. Upholding the rule of law.
I read about him earlier today. Disagree with his politics. But honor the man greatly. A hero of the republic.

(3,888 posts)Those cops were set up by higher-ups to be overwhelmed. One died. 50 or more were injured. We saw one being squished in a door.
We need some answers.
