1. A turning point

If this is just swept under the rug and poo poooed and they attempt to return to "business as usual" they signed the death sentence to the USA. They might as well finish throwing the constitution and the so called "rule of law" out the window.

2. Precisely why a delay in impeachment proceedings paves the way for more trouble

in the future. If this is not dealt with swiftly there will come a day when someone worse than Trump is at the helm.
Someone actually competent, smarter, more shrewd and as appalling as it may sound, even more ruthless and cruel.
This person will trample over Democracy and make Trump's unconstitutional actions against BLM protesters and babies locked in cages look like a walk in the park.

There are lessons to be learned here and we turn our backs to them at our own peril. It may not be in 2024 but the pattern has been laid. It will happen again. Do we really want to leave it to future generations when we are here right now?

To those who say we have more important work to do such as dealing with the pandemic and the economic fall out resulting from the current administration's inept handling of all that's ensued, I say let's get to work and do it all. Let's begin right now by impeaching the worst president the United States has ever had.
